Gambling Assessment & Treatment

Gambling can be a concerning, damaging, and addictive behavior. There are so many accessible ways to gamble and more and more people are struggling with compulsive  gambling behaviors.

We draw from valid and reliable assessment tools to help determine the extent of the issue. We will work with you collaboratively to determine next steps in terms of treatment protocols.

We use a motivational interviewing approach with clients--working with you to develop behavioral tools to help you change your gambling behaviors in a way that feels manageable. 

​

We use cognitive therapy to assist clients in altering irrational thought patterns that foster gambling and disordered eating​. We focus on relationships and the key role they can play in recovery.

Family Members and Gambling

Family members, such as parents, partners, and siblings, are deeply impacted by gambling addiction.

​

We work with family members to help them process their emotions around the impact of their loved one's addiction. We also discuss the importance of self-care, avoiding enabling behavior, and setting boundaries to aid recovery.

We also run support groups for family members of those facing gambling addiction. Currently, we are running a 4-session group for family members. This group will provide education about the roots of gambling addiction, provide family members with strategies and tools to manage this reality while taking care of their own mental health, and provide a space for connection and discussion among individuals going through similar family situations.

This is a 4-session group and will be held via secure video:

• Wednesdays 7:30-8:45pm 

• June 3, 10, 17, and 24

The cost is $40 per group session ($160 total). Space is limited.
