Dr. Juleen Buser holds the national credential of board certified coach and is a licensed professional counselor in GA. She specializes in concerns related to body image and disordered eating—specifically emphasizing strategies to promote body positivity and a healthy relationship with food and exercise. She also highlights the role of spirituality in her work and studies ways in which certain worldviews can foster body acceptance.

Dr. Buser is a faculty member at The College of New Jersey. In this role, she trains students seeking future counseling careers. Her prior experience includes work as a college counselor and in private practice. 

 

Dr. Buser attained a bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College, a master’s of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, a master’s degree in Counseling from Wake Forest University, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Syracuse University.

Dr. Buser has published over 30 articles and book chapters on topics such as disordered eating, body image, addictive issues, spirituality, relationships, and coping strategies. Her work has been featured in Counseling Today and she serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Counseling & Development. She also served as president of the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors and is a member of several professional organizations: American Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota, and International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors.
